We've put together a handy guide of some of the best events happening in Shrewsbury this December to help you make the most of the festive season!
27th November - 3rd January
This Christmas, in the Mansion, travel through time and meet guests from Christmas parties through the ages. We imagine a party like no other, where the past intertwines with the present, and everyone’s invited.
1st December - 23rd December
Come and meet Santa in his enchanting grotto on the lower level of The Darwin Centre on selected dates until Christmas! We do ask for a small donation of £4 per to support our official charity partner Shrewsbury Town in the Community.
1st December - 3rd January
The Panto Adventures of Peter Pan promises hilarious comedy, lavish sets, beautiful costumes and fantastic music.
Various Dates 3rd - 18th December
Party the night away in a beautiful Grade 2* listed, classic moated manor house, set in the heart of the beautiful Shropshire countryside with four acres of beautifully landscaped gardens.
22nd October - 4th December
Last year the shop sold over £58,000 worth of cards, calendars, diaries & wrapping paper, with 98% of the takings going to around 40 charities. There are thousands of cards on sale in the beautiful Trinity Chapel of St Mary's Church.
Showcasing over 30 independent traders offering gifts, home wares and speciality food - all locally produced, created or carefully selected. You'll be able to finish (or begin!) your Christmas shopping, treat yourself and find the nicest unique products.
5th December - 3rd January
Shrewsbury’s civic church will be ablaze with twinkling lights this December when a host of beautifully decorated and illuminated Christmas trees fill St Chad’s for the opening of its annual Christmas Tree Festival.
Embrace this wonderful time of year and join a Christmas Fun Run! A 5K run or walk around the delightful quarry park in Shrewsbury. All finishers will receive a bespoke Omega medal!
Celebrate Christmas in Shrewsbury at the annual Carols in the Square concert.The event will be broadcast live on BBC Radio Shropshire with Eric Smith from 6.05pm.
17th - 18th December
The Chronicle Christmas Market brings festive cheer to from the fields of Shropshire to Shrewsbury Square. Look out for delicious mince pies and steaming mulled wine, or be tempted by the best locally produced food. The market is also an opportunity to catch on your Christmas shopping, with hand-made crafts and gifts for sale from local makers and traders.
Wednesdays up to 22nd December
Grab a bite to eat at one of the market's cafes or street food venues or relax with a glass of wine or a gin cocktail at Gindifferent or Petit Glou wine bar/café. Make a purchase at one of the market’s retail stalls on the night & get a voucher for a complimentary mince pie & glass of
mulled wine, between 5pm- 6pm (while stocks last).
18th - 24th December
Filmed on location in Shrewsbury, Ebenezer Scrooge learns the true meaning of Christmas when the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future teach him to open his heart to the joys of family and friends.
