AGMP Concerts present Big Country LIVE at The Buttermarket for the ‘Wonderland’ tour.The band broke massively worldwide with the release of the album’s classic singles ‘Fields Of Fire’, ‘Chance’, ‘Look Away’ & signature song ‘In A Big Country’, which went on to become massive worldwide hits.

Prison Break

15th January

Prison Break, the event, takes place in the expansive four acre grounds of Shrewsbury Prison. It is packed full of challenges, puzzles, hidden clues, helpful prisoners and hindering officers. How will you overcome these challenges to achieve freedom?

Tanners Talks - The Villainous Victorians

Join Dick Allen from the Friends of Shrewsbury Flaxmill for a talk about the iconic building's origins in the late 18th Century, its life as a flax mill, transformation to a maltings and its final closure in 1987.

Omid Djalili: The Good Times Tour

22nd January

After experimenting with a Zoom gig where he got muted by 639 people & a Drive-in gig where Omid witnessed an audience member get out his car, attach a hose pipe to his exhaust & feed it through the window; multi award-winning comedian & actor Omid Djalili is now where he belongs, on a stage & bringing back the Good Times.

Dan Walsh & Rachel Baiman

23rd January

BBC Folk Awards Best Musician nominee Dan Walsh combines British, Irish and American folk music delivered with a healthy dose of funky grooves all performed with his unique and dazzling take on clawhammer style banjo.

Fern Brady - Autistic Bikini Queen

26th January

Late Victorian & Edwardian Science Fiction

The nineteenth century saw major advances in science and technology. These in turn gave rise to great hopes but also to dire fears which we can see expressed in the literature of the period. Science fiction as a distinct genre focusing on space travel, future wars, utopias and dystopias emerges at this time.

Come and meet Santa in his enchanting grotto on the lower level of The Darwin Centre on selected dates until Christmas! We do ask for a small donation of £4 per to support our official charity partner Shrewsbury Town in the Community.

The Panto Adventures of Peter Pan promises hilarious comedy, lavish sets, beautiful costumes and fantastic music.

Shrewsbury Charity Christmas Card Shop

22nd October - 4th December

Last year the shop sold over £58,000 worth of cards, calendars, diaries & wrapping paper, with 98% of the takings going to around 40 charities. There are thousands of cards on sale in the beautiful Trinity Chapel of St Mary's Church.

Shropshire Festive Gift Market

4th December

Showcasing over 30 independent traders offering gifts, home wares and speciality food - all locally produced, created or carefully selected. You'll be able to finish (or begin!) your Christmas shopping, treat yourself and find the nicest unique products.

Christmas Tree Festival at St Chad's

5th December - 3rd January

Shrewsbury’s civic church will be ablaze with twinkling lights this December when a host of beautifully decorated and illuminated Christmas trees fill St Chad’s for the opening of its annual Christmas Tree Festival.

Omega Festive Family Fun Run & Santa's Grotto

12th December

Embrace this wonderful time of year and join a Christmas Fun Run! A 5K run or walk around the delightful quarry park in Shrewsbury. All finishers will receive a bespoke Omega medal!

Carols in The Square

15th December

Celebrate Christmas in Shrewsbury at the annual Carols in the Square concert.The event will be broadcast live on BBC Radio Shropshire with Eric Smith from 6.05pm.

Chronicle Christmas Market

17th - 18th December

The Chronicle Christmas Market brings festive cheer to from the fields of Shropshire to Shrewsbury Square. Look out for delicious mince pies and steaming mulled wine, or be tempted by the best locally produced food. The market is also an opportunity to catch on your Christmas shopping, with hand-made crafts and gifts for sale from local makers and traders.
